Welcome CHMTA Members
On this page you will find organization documents, certification information, our newsletter, and National, State, and Local MTA events.
Our most popular fundraiser of the year, the Playathon is a fun performance opportunity for students and teachers to raise money to benefit Musical Empowerment in Carrboro, NC; an organization which fosters artistic and personal growth through music for children in under-served communities.
Each year CHMTA offers a non-competitive performance festival in the spring, in which students perform in a masterclass setting for a guest judge and clinician. Our festival is in two divisions, piano and voice.
